Google加入禁书周

9月12日，美国图书馆协会（American Library Association）主席Leslie Burger在googleblog上说，google已经加入了25前由美国图书馆协会等机构发起的禁书周Banned Books Week。
禁书周旨在张扬阅读自由的理念，时间定在每年9月份的最后一个星期，今年的禁书周从9月23日到30日。读者可以在 google.com/bannedbooks用Google Book Search 查找20世纪那些曾经被禁的伟大小说。
在ALA的网站上列出了20世纪最伟大的100部小说，其中有42部（黑体表示）是曾经被禁或者引起争论的，包括有《了不起的盖茨·比》、《麦田里的守望者》、《尤利西斯》、《1984》、《勇敢新世界》等等。
